I upgraded to El Capitan and my IMac from mid 2011 is crushing and broken double screen. I want to go back to the other operating system which worked fine. Any suggestions.

Do you have a recovery partition for Mountain Lion? If so backup any data you wish to save to a different device then boot into Mountain Lion recovery, erase the El Capitan partition, and restore. Otherwise see thunderzzz's link for the official explanation.

Also as an aside I am currently running El Capitan on a mid 2011 iMac myself (upgraded to 12GB ram) and it works fine. Unless your problems are caused by legacy software/drivers you absolutely need to run I'd bet you too can get El Capitan working.

I don't even know or remember what was before I upgraded to el capitan. do you think I should give it a shot, I have 16 GB Ram but it keeps crushing since i upgraded. Don't have a clue why?

By 'crushing' do you mean 'painfully slow' or 'system crashes and restarts' or something different?

If the system is just slow or occasionally crashing you could try running http://www.etrecheck.com/. If it is frequently crashing I'd try restarting into safe mode after a crash to see if that brings stability and opening Console to look for clues in the diagnostic reports. Or you could go with the nuclear option and do a clean reinstall.

Yeh, that's not good. Kernel panics, mackeeper, a passel of old launch agents and daemons... creating a backup for your backup and taking the clean reinstall option is looking better and better.

If you want to take on issues one by one I'd begin by restarting in Safe Mode. If all your devices/displays work in safe mode then the pansonic kernel extension drivers can be considered unnecessary and removed. Since your primary complaint seems to display related those would be my first suspicion for trouble.

Further steps include uninstalling mackeeper. Antivirus in general is reputed to cause more harm than good, and mackeeper is considered one of the worst. It may also be a good idea to update/uninstall browser extensions and startup items. A few are older than Yosemite which could create incompatibility issues.

As far as the kernel panics... does the April 14th panic predate your upgrade to El Capitan?

    Edit: Kernel panic information.

Ok, I assumed MacKeeper since I saw that listed under Launch Daemons.

At this point you should contact apple support. They are probably your best bet for a receive a step by step solution.

Where you attempting anything in particular prior to this last crash?

All I can do is re-suggest this Safe Mode startup link -> https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262 or if that does not work to suggest holding down the option key while restarting to select a recovery partition for startup since that ought to be faster than internet recovery.
