It may take a while. If you look at the list Digital camera RAW formats supported by OS X El Capitan - Apple Support you'll notice, that Apple does not always release the RAW support for all RAW formats of a camera, only for the uncompressed RAW.
The RAW support for Nikon D810***, Nikon D810A*** has been released about a year ago, and it still only supports the uncompressed format.

Apr 22, 2016 11:04 AM in response to léonieby j.ferrara,I see.. that's very frustrating. So, basically it's not an Aperture thing, it's an Apple thing? Even if I worked in Lightroom, I still would not be able to shoot the smaller size raw files.

All native Apple applications are using Apple's RAW support, but Lightroom or Photoshop will use Adobe's Camera RAW.
See this list: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html#Nik on
I do not see any restriction as to the compression.

This statement regarding the D810 is untrue, I shoot only lossless compressed large 45MB files, and it works fine starting in Yosemite, since the day Apple released it a year or so ago. I have on occasion shot uncompressed (72Mb) just to test it, and it works as well. I cannot speak about the small RAW 9MB, as I have never used them.

Apr 26, 2016 12:55 AM in response to Kevin J. Doyleby léonie,By "compressed" I was referring to the smaller file formats, a bit unprecise, I'm sorry.
Apple's RAW support page says: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205272
Nikon D810***
Nikon D810A***
and the footnote is the same as for the D5:
***Nikon RAW L format only

Apr 28, 2016 10:21 AM in response to j.ferraraby torreypines,As kevin and leonie mentioned, the latest digital camera raw update that supports the d5 and d500 does cover the d5 lossless compressed image file setting. If you are unclear about the difference between lossless compressed and uncompressed, and image bit depth settings, check out the d5 instruction manual
