Apr 28, 2016 6:00 AM in response to karenfromprovidenceby OldGnome,Public spaces are loud. Those of us who are hearing impaired may not realize how loud public spaces, and especially movies, can be, until we begin wearing hearing aids.
You will want to check with your audiologist, who can provide a tuned setting for your hearing aids to help with your movie theater experience. There is likely nothing you can do on your own.
Personally, I don't go to theaters any more. Without closed captions, I can't understand dialogue, even with my hearing aids.

Apr 28, 2016 6:10 AM in response to OldGnomeby karenfromprovidence,Thanks, OldGnome! I stopped going to theater, too. They actually asked me to come and test their new assisted hearing system BUT didn't tell me I needed aids with a t-coil!!!!!! Since I'm testing the Halos, I figured I would try again. Was just wondering if anybody had a magic wand/cure.
Do I have this posting thing figured out??? I want to be in the Starkey Halo thread. Frustrating!!!
Thanks for your help!

Apr 28, 2016 6:18 AM in response to karenfromprovidenceby OldGnome,★HelpfulKaren - welcome. Where you are posting is just fine. It's not necessary to continue a thread, because you have a new problem to bring to us.
There are those who feel that the lack of a T-Coil is a great weakness in the Halos.

Apr 28, 2016 8:25 AM in response to OldGnomeby gilda92,I assume you are both talking about movie theatres? I wish someone could tell me how they have conquered hearing at live theatre. The Stratford Festival season will soon begin and I'd love to find it "too loud"!!!!!

Apr 28, 2016 8:33 AM in response to gilda92by OldGnome,Yes, movie theaters. Live theater is a complete waste of my time. Again, without closed captions, I can't watch any movie, TV, etc.

Apr 28, 2016 9:49 AM in response to karenfromprovidenceby gilda92,But karenfromprovidence doesn't that rely not just on your aids having the telecoil but also on the theatre being looped? I have never been in a Canadian theatre that announces it is looped. Is it better in the US?
