Q: Apple Music for Android

We have a family sharing account. Directions were followed so that I could be added to the family account on my Android. It still shows that I'm on a "free trial" subscription. What do I do from here?

I tried that yesterday. You currently can't join Family Share without an Apple device. I tried it through Apple Music for Android and iCloud for Windows. Drag.

    1. 1. Turn-off Automatic Renewal for your Individual membership.
    2. 2. Ask the organizer of the Family Membership that you want to join to invite you to join the group.
    3. 3. Accept the Invitation to join a family group.
    4. After you accept the invitation, open the Apple Music app and check to make sure that you're a part of the group.

I am an Android user with Apple Music and I wanted to share how I got through this:

One key thing to know is that a requirement for accessing the Family Sharing invitation through an iOS device/ up-to-date Mac that can access iCloud. I don't have either (iOS device OR Mac that can access iCloud) so this is how I got around it:

    1) One of the requirements to join Family Sharing is that the email address (that is being invited) should be an email for iTunes Store and iCloud account. If your android user doesn't have an itunes/icloud account, they need to create one on icloud.com

    2) The family group "organizer" will need to follow the following steps on an iOS device OR Mac that can access iCloud: Go to Settings > iCloud > Family > Add Family Member > Enter the Android family member's name or email address

    3) Any family member that has an iOS device OR Mac that can access iCloud will need to just need to login to iCloud using the Android family member's email address.

    4) Once signed into the Android family member's email address using an iOS device OR Mac, accept the invite by: Going to Settings > iCloud > Invitations (To accept an invitation, follow the onscreen instructions. It may ask to confirm yourApple ID and password)

    5) Once the invite is accepted, the family group "organizer" should be able to see it in their iCloud Family Sharing. It should automatically add the Android family member as part of the Family Group and thus, Family Apple Music.  The Android family member should be able to login using their Apple id on their Android Apple Music app
