Q: Where are my notes?

I have been using the "Notes" app for several years on my iMac, iPad, iPhone to store bits of useful and necessary information, as well as notes from meetings and household lists etc. At the the last count I had about 20 separate notes on the app. They have always synced across my devices, and I have been able to edit from each device. I have just gone into my Notes and found that all have been disappeared on each of my devices. Does anyone out there know if these are recoverable, and how do I go about it? These are all pretty important to me!

iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013), iOS 9.3.1

Do you have a Time Machine backup? There are 2 locations in your user library to recover notes from depending on how yours are stored.

Start with the first. If nothing is recovered, do the second one:

    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes/Data/Library/Notes/   recover 3 NotesV6.storedata** files

    ~/Library/Group%20Containers/group.com.apple.notes/       recover 3 NoteStore.sqlite** files

If you are storing your notes in iCloud, then you may need to go offline in order to recover them without them disappearing. When you do recover them, export them so you can save a copy.

Were you able to recover your Notes and do you have any idea on how they got deleted? I assume that since they got deleted from all devices, one of them had to perform the deletion.
