Q: PowerMac G4 bios lock?
I Purchased a PowerMac G4 Quicksilver off of my buddy, I quickly decided to tear it down and clean every square inch, whilst I was doing so I knocked off a resistor from the logicboard, so I bought a new motherboard. I installed the motherboar, and my it won't boot to my hard drive. so I insert my Mac OS 9 installer, and hold down the option key, as any sensible Mac owner would. And then I'm greeted with a screen asking for a passcode to select the boot disk. The seller on eBay never alerted me of a password being present. Nor did I know that you can set a password on the bios. Now I'm stuck sifting through useless garbage. None of the startup key commands work and the only two screens that I can get to, are the Flashing finder folder, and the screen asking for a passcode. Is there any way to over ride this? At all?
