Q: 3rd party app that behaves like "Spaces" via 10.8.6

Does anybody know of a 3rd party app that behaves like Spaces? Mission control is absolutely horrible and my software wont run on 10.8.6 anymore.

Mac Pro (Early 2008), OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

What OS are you running?  Your profile says 10.9.2, but you say you're running 10.8.6.

    Pretty sure they meant 10.6.8.

Yes. Spaces was last seen in 10.6.8 and is greatly missed:

What functionality of Spaces are you missing? AFAICT the only "limitation" is that you no longer can have a "grid" of spaces, they are sequential. Seems pretty inconsequential for me. Spaces do exist, and Mission Control is just one way to get an overview of all your Spaces. You don't have to use it most of the time, just happily move from one Space to another. Care to enlighten me?

Ability to move one item to another space and position it in that space in one quick gesture. The simplicity is crux of its efficiency.

Mission control requires you to first navigate to the space you want to move the item from so you can find the item amidst a field of items moved exposé-style (so everything moved), go to Mission Control, then move the thing to the space (if you can even see which tiny space is the right one) the go to the space you moved the thing to so you can position it on the page. To complicate things the UI shows the spaces extremely small so it's difficult to tell what is when in each space. It's just overall terrible UI and extremely inefficient.  So, exactly how does combining spaces and exposé with all these UX pitfalls benefit the functionality Spaces already had?

My workflow has been less efficient. Hoping to find a basic utility to resolve the head scratching UX.

Well, you can still drag a window against the edge of the screen and up comes the next space.

Altenatively, you can start to drag and then use control-left or control-right to move to successive spaces, and then let go. Works perfectly well.

None of those require that you go into the Mission Control interface.

Also if you are in space A, and you want to move something from space B to space C, again it's not one quick gesture anymore. This will require you to go from current space > to mission control > to space B > to mission control > to space C

It is inefficient and difficult to see what is I the spaces.

An easy way to see what is in each space at the same time would help, I am sure.

You might want to look at some third party apps in the app store such as Magnet or BetterSnapTool

I  have no financial interest in any products mentioned.

This suggestion is even less visual than mission control.

I'm looking to gain back the functionality of spaces, hoping yheres a 3rd party app -- like the fix to bring back the color tags or the fix to bring back assigning keyboard shortcuts.
