Q: Some songs shown as matched on my Mac are not visible on my iPhone

As the title says, checking the iCloud status of my music library on iTunes on my Macbook, certain songs (in fact a whole album) are shown as 'matched', but do not appear at all on my iPhone.  Please note that some others shown as 'matched' do appear and are available to play on the phone. Have I missed something obvious?

Thanks

    Hi littleeden,

I understand you are not seeing some of the iTunes Music that is matched on your iPhone.  The resource below provides some troubleshooting steps if some of your songs are missing.

    Get help with iTunes Match

If you can’t see your iTunes Match library on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If your iTunes Match library is missing, restart your iOS device

If you still can't see it after the restart:

    1. Turn off iCloud Music Library and then turn it back on.

      1. Go to Settings > Music.
      2.
      3. Turn off iCloud Music Library.
      4.
      5. Close Settings.
      6.
      7. Go to Settings > Music.
      8.
      9. Turn on iCloud Music Library.
    2. Sign out of iTunes and then sign back in.

See if your songs are available for download

In iTunes, turn on the iCloud Download column to see the iCloud Music Library icons. A "Available for download" icon   appears next to songs that are available in iCloud Music Library but haven't been saved to your computer and therefore won't be matched.

If some of your songs are missing or the song names are dimmed

If songs that you bought are missing or the song names appear in grey text, they might use digital rights management (DRM). You need to authorize your computer before you can play these songs.

After you authorize, choose File > Library > Update iCloud Music Library from the menu bar at the top of your computer screen.

    Take care,

Thanks for the reply.  I had already tried updating my library, as described, but the problem is that when I check the iCloud status of the album in question in iTunes on my MBP, all the tracks show up in bold text and are listed as 'matched' (this is an album I ripped from a CD), however, when I check my music on my iPhone, the whole album just does not appear.  To give you a bit more info, the album in question is Arrival, by Abba - I have other Abba albums, which show up just fine on my phone, and also plenty of other albums ripped from CDs, which also show up. Just to be clear, I have been able to play this album on iTunes on my MBP for years without any problems either.   I'm wondering if it might still be something to do with DRM - any further thoughts?

OK, this is weird - I found this thread: Not showing on all devices

Now, I checked under 'albums', as suggested in the thread, but no luck.  However, when I checked under 'songs' - all the songs from the album seem to be there.

OK - found it!  For some reason the album is listed as by 'Various Artists' rather than 'Abba' - don't know why iTunes would do that, but at least it's available on my iPhone now - I just have to remember where to look for it!
