Q: Phishing attempt via text in UK

More of a warning than a question. I have just had a text to my phone with a very good and believable link to sign in to you Apple ID. This link is fake http://appleidlock.com

Do not use it is a fake Apple webpage. The links on the top bar do not work and they are just after your login details.

    Hello

I stupidly fell for this phishing attempt - only half concentrating, doing something else at same time, daft. I changed my password and security questions within 2-3 minutes of making the mistake. The following morning, I had an email from Apple saying my credit card details and shipping/billing address had been changed (which I had not done). I logged in and they hadn't been, seemingly, but I changed my password and security questions again. What else should I do?

    Help appreciated.

    Hi,

As soon as you can go to the official Apple website and change you login details. Your official Apple details/passwords will not be the same as the 'new' details you entered on the fake website they will still be the original details. It might also be worth canceling any credit/debit cards associated with you official Apple account.

Thanks for replying so quickly. I changed my log-in details (password & security questions) on the real site, not the fake one. Nonetheless, I received that email about the credit card change. I have since gone back to the real site and changed my password and security questions again.
