Q: Lost Songs - Haven't seen this one yet..

Ok, the songs aren't lost on the ipod - iTunes just can't find them.  Like many I downloaded iTunes onto new computer w/ Windows 10. Copied data off old computer and loaded onto new. Synced ipod to it and lost all of playlists and 1/2 the music (or so I thought). Thought (wrongly) could sync with old computer and fix issue but same thing happened on it - leaving 2 computers showing no playlists and missing 1/2 songs in iTunes and now ipod as well. Followed other posts here and the procedure to restore older previous playlist to iTunes and got them back but when songs are clicked iTunes says "song could not be found because iTunes could not be found - would you like to locate?".

Nowhere to be found on Computer but it (and thousand more) are on the ipod (hidden away) and findable by searching description key word but labeled with 4 letter code for the title of the song (ie: FPUC or PBSX, etc). iTunes asks if I'd like to search for the other missing 7040 songs (yep, that's right 7k!) using the same file - tried but only works for the one song since each file is individually titled in the folder. So good news Ipod has all my music; bad new can't recognize by title as renamed.

Here's the query - Any way to restore the titles or repopulate the songs so findable by iTunes and then of course get the ipod to match iTunes and not overwrite all again? Thanks.

iPod classic, Windows 10, iPod mini
