Q: Why did this update break my ability to connect to a Cisco VPN

I am using a native Cisco IPSec VPN connection on my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) running El Capitan 10.11.4 (15E65).  After this most recent software update I am no longer able to connect to the VPN.  I receive the message "The VPN server did not respond. Verify the server address and try reconnecting."  I have confirmed that I can successfully ping the server.  My computer's firewall is off.  I have entered a Server Address, Account Name, Password, and Shared Secret.

Why did this update break my Cisco VPN connection?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

What did Cisco say when you asked them? There are far too many variables here. What Cisco equipment you're connecting to, the version of the software running on that equipment, etc.

Apparently, there is a compatibility issue somewhere or a setting you need to change, or an update you may need to apply to the Cisco equipment you're connecting to.
