Q: Help Using Verizon's $10/Day Plan in Europe

How can I most easily and most completely turn all cellular activity on my iPhone 6S so that no sneaky apps try to communicate.

Need to not pay $10 on days not needed.

Must still be able to connect to wi-fi when that is available.

Any experience on this will be greatly appreciated!

A:

It will prevent any and all internet access (a.k.a Data usage) while not on Wifi.

It will NOT prevent Phone calls or text messages.

Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data = "Off"

Thanks for the quick come-back.
I have found that before and it just seemed too easy.
Will that really prevent all cellular activity, even by some apps behind the scenes?

Put the phone in Airplane mode then turn WiFi back on if you're a belt and suspenders kind of person. But, turning off cellular data has always worked for me when I've traveled abroad.

About cellular data settings and usage on your iPhone and iPad - Apple Support

If you wish, you can use additional "safety feature" options (which should be redundant), such as turn off data roaming, and turn off "Use Cellular Data For" for all your apps.
