May 5, 2016 4:33 AM in response to Kyu Kimby Vinceassociate,Your monitor seems to support fixed audio out. If you hook them to powered speakers and adjust the audio output of the ATV to a simple stereo format it should work. Headphones are not supported.
Under settings surround sound mode set to stereo.
What receiver do you use with your speakers? Brand and model #?

May 5, 2016 9:47 PM in response to Vinceassociateby Kyu Kim,I hooked up my Bose CineMate 2.1's up to the monitor via audio cable (like headphone jack on one end, left and right to Bose on the other end) and it still doesn't work. I tried changing the surround sound settings to Stereo, and still nothing. I know it's not the speakers or audio cable I'm using because it works when I plug in my iPhone...

May 6, 2016 4:01 AM in response to Kyu Kimby Diana.McCall,Just checking, ATV audio output should be set to "Apple TV" to put the sound on the HDMI cable.
I looked at the manual for your monitor, and aside from the note defining the audio connection, there's no explanation of what it does. I'm afraid it might not be implemented. You might have to go with the splitter originally suggested by vazandrew.

May 6, 2016 6:33 AM in response to Kyu Kimby Vinceassociate,Your powered speakers should work.
On the ATV go into settings under audio and video and change the Audio Mode from Auto to 16 bit.
See missing audio section of : Get help with audio, video, or power on Apple TV - Apple Support
If that does not resolve it, contact Dell and ask them why the monitor audio out does not work...
