Q: Problem signing into iCloud - "error connecting to Apple ID server"

A pop-up window shows up ever few seconds on my computer.  I type in my Apple ID and password and they are never accepted.  I keep getting an error message.  I also go to the iCloud Preferences to type in my password and the same error occurs.  I get, "This Mac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with "my email address."  It is so annoying - I saw that many people are having this same issue, but I have not seen it resolved.

Thanks.

Please launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ In the Finder, select Go Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

    Select from the menu bar

              Keychain Access Preferences... Certificates

There are three menus in the window that opens. Change the selection in the top two to Best attempt, and in the bottom one to  CRL.

Quit Keychain Access. Log out and log back in.
