Q: my i mac does not recognise my user name, so i can only log on as a guest. I haven't changed it and its been the same since i bought the comouter

i mac doesn't recognise my user name, so won't allow me in to my section. I am the administrator, it means i have to use the guest area. Help!!

Hi Alan, no the i mac was new when i bought it. I'm not sure how to check which version of OSX i have but the software is 9.1

Your comment that the software is 9.1 is meaningless to me.

To find out which version of OS X your Mac is running, do as instructed at Find the OS X version and build number on your Mac - Apple Support
