Q: After Import to Photos, some iPhoto did not make it
I switched to Photos and most of my iPhoto library made the switch. However, there are entire months of imports that did not. Seemingly randomly.
In looking at my HD space on OmniDiskSweeper, my iPhoto library clocks in at 173 GB and my Photos library is 163.5 GB.
I'm looking to switch to a new Macbook Pro with the solid state drive and in an effort to not have duplicate stuff clogging the SSD drive with Gigs of data, I'd like to only transfer the files once, preferably as the Photos library.
So the question is, how can I make sure all the photos in both libraries are put into one
MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011), OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

You can safely delete the iPhotos library but it is not recommended and it will not save very much space - a few GB usually (more if there are large caches in it) - see Photos saves disk space by sharing images with your iPhoto or Aperture libraries - Apple Support
