Q: Iphone ios 7.1.2 after update two incident unable to control volume

Hi

Iphone 4 withafter updated to ios 7.1.2.

recently have two incident of volume control button unable to control the movie sound.

first incident happen off the phone for one day on back not sure how no problem in volume control.

this second incident recently happen on 2/5/2016, off the phone about two day, on back,  fault still persist, reset all, fault still persist, hardware reset, fault still persist

but plug in headphone no issue to control the sound.

ringer no issue

bur all alert unable to hear any sound after select.

any can help to solve this?

    The iPhone 4 was introduced in June, 2010, which is now nearly six years ago.  Six years is a very long lifespan for a cellular telephone.

     

    It seems you have a hardware issue.  If you choose to repair this iPhone, take it to an Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Center for an assessment and advice how to proceed.

    Thanks for the info

    But when I used the phone to call and activate the speaker I able to hear from tone from the speaker.

    is this still related to hardware issue or the software bug?

    I do not have your iPhone in front of me. Some hardware issues occur sporadically.

     

    As I said, have an Apple Store or Authorized Appme Service Center check it out. They can tell you.
