Q: Restoring Mac Book Pro Contacts with iCloud Contacts

I spend some time cleaning up my contacts. For unknown reasons, all of a sudden I lost most of my contacts as well as distribution lists. Contacts in iCloud has all the info. How do I restore my MacBook Pro Contacts with what's in iCloud Contacts? 2011 MacBook Pro running on El Capian 10.11.14

Here are two Apple Support articles which may help you restore your contacts:
1. iCloud: Restore your contacts, calendars and reminders, or bookmarks
2. If you accidentally deleted your calendars, reminders, or contacts from iCloud - Apple Support
