Apr 16, 2016 4:12 PM in response to Jane Mokby Sunlit_Soul,Hi
On a post that I made for the same issue, someone had pointed me to the basic change in calendar preferences and it worked for me. I had literally spent HOURS on it beforehand trying just about everything and thought I had tried everything. Thought I would humour the person and try it, and surprisingly - it worked! Here was the solution (on my iMac):
1. Get into Calendar
2. Go to Calendar preferences
3. On the General "tab"
4. Make sure the Default Calendar reads "Selected Calendar" NOT the calendar you want your default to be eg. in my case I wanted it to be Work. Anyway, I changed it and it worked.
Hope this helps for everyone else too.

Apr 16, 2016 4:50 PM in response to Sunlit_Soulby AeroncaDrpes,I would add one thing - my preferences in iCal were already set to "selected calendar" and still my events disappeared, so I selected a random calendar then changed back to the original setting of "selected calendar". I have not had a problem with my last couple of events. Yeah, thanks

May 11, 2016 5:42 AM in response to Sunlit_Soulby Jane Mok,That actually worked!!! In my case it was a default on another calendar. Once I changed it to "Selected Calendar", it still didn't work till I quit and restarted the app. Seems OK now. Thank you!!

May 12, 2016 7:36 AM in response to Jane Mokby Jane Mok,Oh wait....That doesn't quite work now. If I add a few events that are in the same calendar, it works. But once I change the calendar, it doesn't work anymore. Aaaggghhh. **** it, Apple! Just fix this already!

Jun 2, 2016 9:41 AM in response to katblakeby derekinmichigan,I have been using Apple products since 1984 and this glitch really P*ss*s me off! Here's a suggestion, not a true fix:
1) Double click on the day you want to add an entry to open a new event window.
2) Add event details per normal. DON'T HIT RETURN (even though it's an automatic reflex that any software engineer should know about
4) Click outside the new event window on the image of the day's agenda with other events on it, etc.
5) Your new event should take.
good luck....

Jun 29, 2016 12:39 PM in response to Jane Mokby Vero-D,I cannot believe Apple haven't solve this issue yet. The only workaround that works for me is not changing the default calendar when creating a new event. After the calendar updates, then I can go and change the selected calendar. It is annoying and time consuming, especially when you have to add +10 event a day at work. Apple do something, please!
