Q: Safari pages unexpected reloading using Yahoo.

Is anyone else having this problem ? When reading an article on Yahoo using Safari, the page will randomly reload to the screen. This takes about 4-5 secs but is annoying.

I have an iMac (late 2013) 27" with OS 10.11.4 and Safari 9.1. I am also using an at&t router over a Uverse line that is ethernet connected to my computer.

Yahoo is my ISP and I don't use Chrome or similar software.

If Safari doesn‘t load a page or webpage items are missing

Uverse via Ethernet could be why you're seeing pages randomly reload. The connection is disrupted or not fast enough.

Check your download speed here > http://www.speedtest.nethttp://www.speedtest.net

If it's less than 10Mbps, you need to upgrade to a faster connection.

If that's not possible restart your AT&T router to see if that helps.

I am having this exact same issue on my iPad Mini with Safari. iOS is 9.3.1. It only seems to happen on Yahoo and started about a couple of months ago. Incredibly annoying as it will reload while I am reading a page or typing a comment and I lose everything. No connectivity issues, and it will happen regardless of where I am (home, coffee shop, work, etc). I wonder if Yahoo made a change in their meta refresh code that only affects Safari? I don't have this problem in Firefox or IE.

Thanks very much for the heads up. I don't think Yahoo will fix this anytime soon but at least I know it's not my system.

This problem has nothing to do with MB download speed because that has not changed and I don't do gaming.

Complaining to Yahoo is our only recourse.

TThis did not resolve the issue. I've cleared the website data in Safari multiple times, changed settings in Safari, then restarted the iPad and nothing has worked. It really seems like something has changed on Yahoo's side. Odd that there haven't been more posts about this exact situation online. Christopher's is the first I've come across.

I will be opening a trouble ticket to Yahoo and see what they can tell me.

Christopher, I have been having this problem on my iPad 4(OSX9.3.4) only, using Safari, for more than 6 months. Of course, my 2 PCs(Win10, Firefox) don't do this, nor does my wife's iPhone 6Plus (Safari), or her iPad2 Mini(Safari). Only on my iPad4. I have searched several times, tried all of the suggestions, and none of them have worked. This issue only occurs on Yahoo pages, no other webpages. In fact, it only seems to occur on Yahoo news webpages. It doesn't happen if I'm looking at Yahoo sports, or their support community pages (searching for answers to this issue). It is particularly vexing to me when I am near the end of a news article or looking at the comments. I have concluded that it must be something in Yahoo's news page code versus some configuration on our particular devices. I don't think that we will find a solution to this issue because I don't think that it is common enough to garner enough attention. I use other websites to read news now. That's the only solution that has worked for me, but it is a poor solution, IMHO.
