You can also download a free up to ATV that checks your Wi-Fi speed at the device.
The one I use is called Speedtest.

Also, be sure that your router does not have access control enabled.
Check for WiFi interference. It may be affecting ATV more than your other devices.
Try a wired ethernet connection, if possible.
What version is your Apple TV, and what software does it have?

i Dont think its interference because we switched from watching Netflix via apple tv to watching via 2 ipads in the same room. So using double the bandwith. Meanwhile apple tv still couldn't connect.....

speedtest via ipad air, 2 meters from the TV 60mbps 10x faster!!

May 8, 2016 3:24 AM in response to Crasjeby Diana.McCall,Your ATV may be in a bad location. See if any of these Potential sources of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth interference - Apple Support may apply. Especially check for wireless phones near it.
