Q: HELP real trouble deleting icloud account for new.

Hi all.

Been having a MENTAL time trying too sort this out.

Basically I have my iPhone asking me constantly for the password to my icloud account under my old email address, I cannot log in, cannot delete it because Find my IPhone is on, I cant access that email address and I am so stressed its unbelievable.

I have read discussions pertaining to this issue on here many many times over and rude people aside, the same old tired thing keeps getting said so please read all this explanation before telling me the same old tired thing, thanks.

Iphone5- changed AppleId  email as my old email related to a very bad ISP I was leaving, no problem with using new Apple ID to buy apps or anything else, but ICloud keeps popping up asking for the password to the old email address.

I have tried oh so many times with the old password I have also tried my current password AFTER reading on here about the glitch that allowed a combination of old email/current password to login; neither of these work, at all.

I cannot log into my old emails, nevertheless I tried anyway, I have logged into manage my apple ID and tried to change the primary email back to the old one- again, as repeated on all these discussions, and, as other people have said it DOES ask for verification again, I darn well know my own accounts, old and new and all the passwords I have ever used, but if my old email which I haven't used in well over 18 months will not log me in with the password I had for it or the security password and will not accept my zip code as part of the forgot password settings how the **** can I log in to my old email to retrieve a verification code to set that email up as apple id so I can log into the old iCloud on the phone, turn off find my iPhone, delete the account, come back to manage my apple id and change the primary email address back into the current one?

Now I have just purchased the 6S but the problem still remains.

What I am getting at this very moment is constant popups asking me to log into the old iCloud account, when I try, repeatedly with old and new passwords, it now pops up that my account has been locked and I need to verify my apple ID, okay, then it flashes up that example@aol.com- the old email I cant log into, that I want to delete, is not a valid Apple ID- DURGH this is because I have successfully changed it to the current email-(surely the computer is smart enough that if that email is not a valid ID it should stop popping up and asking me to log in using it?!)

So I ma prompted to "search" for the apple ID using my name and email- so obviously I search with the current, valid details and it finds me and just tells me to wait 8 hours;  then 2 seconds later another pop up asking me to log in with the old email address.

So in summary it keeps asking me for the password to an old account that they do not even have on their system as a valid Apple ID, so I could enter any old rubbish and it will never, ever log in BECAUSE IT DOESNT EXIST ANYMORE.

I want the old icloud account off, the phone then I can simply log in with the new email which works perfectly.

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3.1

If you have the original purchase receipt and a photo ID, try taking it to an Apple Store or reseller to see if they can assist you. You can try contacting Apple ID support to see if they can straighten out the old e-mail/password problem.

    There is a contact link.

Thankyou Eric! Big help, I was leaning towards popping on the store, but tbh it's seems ridiculous for such a small issue, rather than the iCloud being a parallel log in to Apple ID, even though you can use the same details, it would be easier if once you changed your ID the iCloud access behaved as an app would- subversive to the Apple ID, what I mean is that the Apple ID should be the overall login access for everything, including iCloud so that when you change the ID all the apps and associated Apple paraphenalia changed with it.

You are welcome. Not trying to speak for Apple because I'm a user just like you, it is built in to help prevent/discourage theft. Some Apple Information about it.
