May 8, 2016 6:49 PM in response to 708.mmby theratter,You have a 256 GB flash drive for storage of which just under 250 GBs can be used for storage. Of that you should allow about 40 GBs for OS X and your third-party applications if you aren't using too many large consumers of storage. I have a fully functional system on 45 GBs of disk space, but I have an external drive that holds most all of my other files, documents, downloads, pictures, movies, etc. If i try to put everything on a single disk I need a 512 GB disk. It appears to me that you are doing just fine since you still have almost 137 GBs of free space.
How to Free Up Space on The Hard Drive

- Also see Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk.
- See Where did my Disk Space go?.
- Be sure to Empty the Trash to recover the space.
- Replace the drive with a larger one. Check out OWC for drives, tutorials, and toolkits.
- Use OmniDiskSweeper 1.8 or GrandPerspective to search your drive for large files and where they are located.
