Q: iPhone 6 is muting phone and video and incoming phone call can be heard only with speaker

iphone 6 version 9.3.1, storage capacity 55.7 storage available 8.7

Initial, maybe not relevant, problem was Sim card error, which was repaired with a paperclip. Soon thereafter I noticed no sound on videos and no incoming sound on phone. Apparently the phone assumes i am on headphones mode, so listening can be achieved with headphones or on the phone with Speaker on.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Do a forced restart - After shutting down all open apps using the app switcher - invoked by quick double press of the home button and swiping up on each app till it flies off the screen.

Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons down together till you see  logo - then release and allow normal boot up

If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker - Apple Support

Get it to Apple Genius Store & Repair maybe you have Damaged the Speaker Connector which is near SIM Reader
