Q: trouble syncing audio manually with timecode

I am having trouble syncing audio and video for the few clips that recorded without camera audio.

For most of the takes, I can sync audio clips with video clips using the waveforms in the auto sync "Synchronize Clips" function.

But for some takes, the audio on the camera was not recording -- therefore, there are no waveforms to automatically match the separate audio tracks to.

We did, however, use a slate with timecode as a backup. But when I try to manually input the timecode for each take, it still does not sync.

Please help me figure out what I'm doing wrong when I manually type in the timecode! Thanks!

    Hai,

When you sync your clips with Timecode doesn't mean that you have to Sync them by manually input the timecode. How timecode work is that during on set, the Sound Recordist will prepare a set of Timecode box, and they will Jam Sync their audio equipments with the cameras. So both audio and visual runs perfectly at the same timecode. That's how you Sync With Timecode, if you guys didn't do that, its impossible.

If you guys are using a slate, why don't just sync manually by looking at the clap of the slate? I guess that's the only way for you to do it now.
