Q: external HD not showing up in Disk Utility
Mac Pro (Late 2013) 10.11.4 OS X El Capitan
I connected a WD hard drive to use with Time Machine, and the back up went smoothly. However, when I was researching whether to purchase this computer, I was told that it need an external HD to be able to continuously pass files on/off of as the Mac Pro is essentially a messenger -- maybe this only pertains to how I use my system (architecture, heavy 3D use). I have delayed in taking the time to set all of this up, as I have had the computer for 6 months now, but it seems so glitchy at times and crashes randomly -- so I thought I would take the time to hook all this up before taking it in. So, now that I have given the background .. When I go into Disk Utility, it doesn't show that it is connected .. it doesn't show that I even have any external HD just the internal Apple SSD. I have a WD connected by both USD and ethernet .. maybe I don't need both connections?? Help
