Q: What happens if I delete the contents of my SubscriptionPlayCache folder in iTunes?
Hi everyone,
I'm on a MacBook Pro (El Capitan 10.11.2, 2.4GHz/4GB), with 121 GB of Flash storage... and I'm running out of hard drive space.
I got a new Time Capsule recently, and in addition to the backups have been transferring files to that (photos, videos, etc), but I just noticed the iTunes cache - specifically "SubscriptionPlayCache" has 9.1GB of data in it. I regularly stream music while I'm working, so obviously this has built up over time.
Will the world come crashing down if I delete the content of that folder, leaving the folder itself in place (to start its inexorable march back up the storage-filling hill)?
Thanks!
MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013), OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)

Apple Music cache files: http://dougscripts.com/itunes/2015/09/new-flush-apple-music-cache-files/ - ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.iTunes/SubscriptionPlayCache/ folder, which is sort of like an “iTunes Media” folder for Apple Music
You might end up with a bunch of broken links in iTunes for the tracks pointing to those files. You could always delete those though many find that irksome and unsightly to even have them.
