May 10, 2016 10:02 PM in response to buffyj76by RodBook,My iPhone 6 + is plugged in to charge every night. This morning I found that the phone had rebooted sometime during the night. While entering my 4 digit code the phone froze. Got it back working briefly. Went to use an app and it shut down and restarted on its own. While in Message app the screen turned a two tone color the top 1/3 green and the bottom 2/3rd grey. Then shuts down and starts up again. This has happened multiple times. The phone doesn't stay on for long.
Any suggestions?

May 11, 2016 4:04 PM in response to buffyj76by sgaver28,Same thing happened to my son's phone. I bought 3 iPhone 6's Jan 2015. A week ago my son who had %80 battery life phone just shut down. Called Apple did a bunch of pointless trouble shooting, nothing worked. Went to apple twice nothing worked. It's obvious that the phone is in great shape. Has been in a $80 life proof case since day one. No water damage. My son is 16yrs old. I have 2 other children my daughter 15 & my youngest 8 who is severely autistic. I'm a single mom & I get zero help from anyone. No child support, no welfare nothing. I'm a waitress & I work 7nights a week to provide for my children. I was never told about the extended apple care. I put a lot of money into these phones because my 2 older kids who pick up the slack with their little brother I just wanted them to have something nice & that they wanted. I need to be able to get ahold of my son case my youngest has a seizure or a meltdown. All apple can offer me is another phone for $300? It's May 11 and I haven't paid my rent yet. I thought apple products were the best. I did everything to protect them & keep them working well. I know it's a issue with iOS 9.3.1. I've read too much about it for it to not be a issue. So my only option is to sell the 2 working iPhone 6's I have and use the money to get us galaxy phones. Maybe not the newest one, but atleast they are good phones & aren't just going to shut off for no reason & then the company expect you to buy a new phone from them. Apple you guys have made millions. You should fix the phone if it's your fault. The sad part is even I was so proud that I have a iPhone. It was nice to have something nice for once. I feel like a idiot.

May 11, 2016 7:10 PM in response to sgaver28by gaegujangyi,The first time this happened, my Lexus' Bluetooth somehow managed to pick up iPhone 6S Plus' signal -- although the actual connection only lasted about a second, I was able to turn on my phone without any additional issues. Then about two or three weeks ago, it happened again but this time around, the Bluetooth trick didn't work.
I bought Apple CarePlus but based on this thread, they may not be able to help so I Googled for another possible solution. AND... I found the one that worked for me from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQazxgcSviQ&feature=youtu.be. The guy shows 3 different options you could try and the one that worked for me was the Option 2, "Hold down power button for 3 seconds, then hold down the home button until Apple logo appears." Try this before selling off your working iPhones...
Good luck~

May 17, 2016 6:18 AM in response to gaegujangyiby buffyj76,I tried this...and everything else under the sun...but nothing worked. Genius Bar was no help. All they did was plug it into a charger and said, "It's not getting any charge so we can't run any diagnostics on it. You can get a new phone, if you want." They did no troubleshooting whatsoever. My phone has been kept in a case since January 2015 when I got it, never dropped, no water damage. VERY frustrating!!! I'm now the proud owner of an $850 paperweight!

May 17, 2016 7:32 AM in response to buffyj76by gail from maine,Did "everything under the sun" include cleaning out your charging ports with a clean, soft toothbrush or a wooden toothpick?
Cheers,

May 17, 2016 7:41 AM in response to gail from maineby buffyj76,Sure did! Brand new toothbrush to ensure no water and/or other debris.
I'm chalking this up as a lesson learned to purchase some kind of extended warranty and Apple Care.

May 17, 2016 10:15 AM in response to buffyj76by gail from maine,Try the toothpick and really get it into the corners. We have had so many people report that they thought they had gotten everything out, and then found another big wad in the corner....
Cheers,

Thanks to your explanation my IPhone came back to life in less than five minutes as opposed to a whole day to change my schedule to get to the Apple Store.

Jun 3, 2016 3:30 PM in response to gail from maineby EmilyAGoGo,I have tried all of the suggestions, and spent several hours in various chats with Apple Techs... nothing worked, so I'm just gonna go to the Apple Store.

Jun 3, 2016 3:59 PM in response to EmilyAGoGoby RodBook,I tried every suggested made by Apple Support Chat. Apple Genius bar replaced the phone because it was still covered by Apple Care. Very prompt fix.
