Apr 20, 2015 12:25 PM in response to MarkCoby Paniko251,I'm in the same boat as you MarkCo
I'm on a Late 2012 MacMini Yosemite 10.10.3, FCPX 10.2.
Had tried every single step above (other user, deleting prefs).
Everything worked fine at the beginning: effects were showing ok, and i was working on a project started in FCPX 10.1.4.
I have tried also disabling all the user fonts in the font book (thought was a 3D title problem) but nothing has changed.
There's also a 3rd party title effect (ProBeat from PixelFilmStudios) that had lost not only the control points in the view, but also the control points parameters in the inspector.
Thanks anybody will help.

Apr 21, 2015 11:15 AM in response to MarkCoby MarkCo,I am thinking that it is the graphics card in my MBP. It is the Mid-2012 model that has a recall because of video issues. My guess is that with the upgrade to Yosemite, FCP decided the card couldn't handle the graphics. I will send it in for replacement and see.
BTW, I tested my setup on my iMac which has the same setup and plugins as my MBP and everything works there.

May 12, 2016 2:38 AM in response to Luis Sequeira1by anaecorrie,Hi Luis,
I am experiencing the same problem, when adding the vignette effect is not being applied on my clip. But...
yesterday everything was working fine. I was doing color correction to my clips, adding the vignette effect, and it all was working fine (all my clips in the timeline had the vignette effect that I was adding). My problem yesterday was not an effects problem, but that FCP started to hang everytime I was trying to open that particular project. So I tried troubleshooting, and one of the things I did was that I deleted FCPx preferences by holding down command and option when starting FCP X. anyway, that didn't solve the problem with FCP hanging, so I continued trying other things but nothing worked.
Today I opened FCP and things were working fine again, but when looking at the clips in my timeline I could see that none of my clips had the vignette effect that I had added yesterday. So I am writing here because I saw that when you were helping MarkCo to solve his problem, you asked him whether he had deleted preferences in FCPx. IS there a reason why deleting preferences would cause this problem?
Any ideas why I may be experiencing this problem with the vignette effect not appearing in my clips? I can not even see the different options that you usually see in the inspector when applying the vignette effect. It looks like this:
Thank you for your help,
Ana

May 12, 2016 6:18 AM in response to anaecorrieby Luis Sequeira1,Deleting preferences would not cause this. A corrupt project might.
Please answer Tom's question.
Also, another easy thing you can try: select everyting in your project timeline, copy (command-C), create a new project, paste (command-V), and see if things work ok in the newly created project. If so, you can delete the old one, and keep using the new version.
Edit: I see your answer to Tom came as I was writing. Your setup is a bit lower end as far as RAM and graphics card are concerned, but it should work.
