May 13, 2016 8:19 AM in response to Mike458by benjaminfromaubonne,Thanks Mike 458. To answer your question:
Yes, my iPhone connects through Bluetooth in my car.
As the speaker does connect correctly through Bluetooth to my Macbook Pro, I don't see how it would need a firmware update (furthermore, the speaker is only one month old).

May 15, 2016 12:40 AM in response to TJBUSMC1973by benjaminfromaubonne,Thanks, but having followed all the recommended steps, including loading the latest version of IOS, my iPhone 5S still fails to find the JBL flip3 wireless speaker. The "other devices" gear turns continuously.
I shall try to contact the JBL people.
I still find this very strange that my Macbook pro can find the speaker with no problem.
