Q: Icloud settings on but photos not getting from iphone 6, 9.3.1, to macbookpro, EC, 10.11.4 .

Is there a bug in one of the updates interfering with photos loading automatically from my iphone (6; 9.3.1) to my macbookpro (10.11.4) cloud? Photos were being automatically transferred via the cloud, then suddenly stopped. I checked settings and nothing seems to be amiss.

Try going to iCloud.com to see if the items are there and whether they are from the device or the computer. That should show whether the device or the computer isn't syncing. If the computer, try going to System Preferences/iCloud and stop syncing. Wait a couple of minutes, then recheck syncing. If the device, go to Settings/iCloud and do the above. You can also try signing out of iCloud and then sign in again.

I went to icloud.com and the photos are there. The photos were taken with my iphone, so I am assuming the syncing issue is with the computer. But from icloud.com, I don't see any way of downloading or importing or exporting to the computer; and per your suggestion, I don't see how to stop syncing via system prefs. I unchecked the photo agent for a few minutes then rechecked it. What should my settings be in the icloud photo section? There are 3 options, icloud library, photo stream and photo sharing. I've tried numerous combinations but nothing seems to work. I've signed in and out of icloud.com and it didn't populate the latest photos onto my computer.

My computer isn't even reading my iphone when I plug it into the computer so I can't transfer photos that way. I updated my IOS on the phone to 9.3.2, and on the computer to 10.11.5 and still no luck.

Try doing a manual download at iCloud.com/Photos. Click Select Photos, then hold down the option/alt key while selecting the photos. Then click Download.

So I was able to download manually. From here I try uploading to photos, I guess? What a pain this is. What is the point of having the cloud if it doesn't work?! And that my computer is not reading my iphone when I plug it in is still mystifying. It did operate as it is designed to, as recent as a month ago. I don't know what has happened but its really a pain because I use photos for marketing every day! Any other thoughts? I'll report back once I've tried to get the photos into photo. Thank you.
