May 15, 2016 7:59 AM in response to Peter Anderson5by Diana.McCall,Strange. What you describe is exactly consistent with "Require device verification", which is a one-time event for each device. The MB Air may have already done this. I just went through these steps on my iPad iOS 9.3.1. The number appears on the TV screen, and a popup appears asking for the "password". I enter the 4-digit number and all is well. You could try restarting ATV after changing the settings, which might work. It does not make sense for the ATV to display the number if device verification is not enabled.
