Q: Challenges Verifying iCloud Account - My email no longer exists
My iPhone 6s screen smashed. My replacement phone has arrived in the mail.
My instructions with my new phone say to turn OFF the FIND MY PHONE app prior to sending my broken phone back. Perfect! I know how to do that!
To do so, I needed to verify my iCloud account. I entered in my password and it says a verification code was sent to my email and I need to enter that code to verify. My email associated with this account is VERY old, and I no longer have access to it. Although I can enter the correct password and correctly answer all security questions, it emails a verification code to my old email address that I cannot access.
Had several exchanges with Apple support yesterday and some suggestions were to contact hotmail/outlook to regain access but this is not possible. I tried that today.
How can I verify my iCloud account without this code that was sent to an email I cannot access?
I have set up a new iCloud account with my updated email but I still need to verify my previous account so I can turn off the Find My Phone feature before returning my phone.
This has not been a simple process, and I have gotten no where with Apple Support and Outlook/Hotmail.
Any help or suggestions are grately appreciated. Thank you!
