I disputed a charge as well. Somebody got something on iTunes. I changed my password, logged out and back in, no luck yet. Still says Apple ID is disabled. I appreciate the phone number. Guess I'm gonna have to call.

Why is my Apple ID disabled? I did change my password but I already tried logging in and out of my acount. I also tried to reset my iPad but I forgot my restrictions passcode. I did remove my account from my lost iPhone app included and it did something. I even backed up my iPad but now this message keeps popping up saying "your Apple ID has been disabled" Now all of my apps are like when there downloading except now they are without the loading circle.can someone help me? My Problems are that I forgot my restrictions passcode and how to start downloading and updating apps again.

I'm a fellow user, I have no idea why your account is disabled.

You've tried : If your Apple ID is locked - Apple Support ?

If that doesn't work then contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/

For the restrictions passcode, was it in place on the device when you last backed up ? If not then you can restore to that backup and it should be removed. If it was on the device when you last backed up then you will need to reset the device back to factory defaults to remove the code, and you can then re-sync your content back to it - you may need to use recovery mode, there are instructions on this page : https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201263)

    My name:- Romeo
    Position:- Programmer
    Do i Hack:- lol

Ok here is how i fixed mine:-

Story: -   i declined some of the purchases (168$ in 5 minutes ) which went thru without my knowledge. I contacted my bank and stopped my credit card. After 15/20 days alter, today, i saw this error on my phone when i tried to update an app "Your Apple id has been disabled".  you need to NOTE that it is not saying For security purposes.

Approaches:- i have tried to reset my password logged in and tried again to update the app i already had in my phone and the error popped up again "Your Apple id has been disabled". ERRRR. Then I tried to log out from all devices i was logged in, signed in again and the same error popped up.  i know it is crazy right. everything seems crazy until u know it is not

Solution:- The last option i had was to call Apple which i hate a lot calling for support especially when you know what's going on and the person in the other end of the line doesn't know any clue about it. But that was not my last option. my last option was to change anoother Apple ID. Owwww that was easy. lol ya it is but i tried my slim chance to revive my old one. here is what i did...
    1) Go to Setting

    2) Go to iTunes & App Store

    3) Clicked on the Apple ID and selected the Signed out ooption

    4) I signed in again

( now it asks me to put all my information before i started to purchase ) ... this means i had to put a valid credit card info on all required fields which i did

    5) i went to app store to see if that fixed it. here it came the surprise with full of smiley face...................It worked. I can download and update my apps again.

This is the fix i did for the error "Your Apple id has been disabled".....
Enjoy... i hope it will fix yours too. let me know ....

It is possible that the itunes store has disabled your ID for reasons like a disputed charge etc. You should call up itunes support and get them to verify why it is disabled. They should be able to fix the problem.

Call iTunes, they might have disabled it owing to a disputed charge etc. They should be able to fix the problem.

    Hi Everyone,

I got the same problem where apple id works everywhere except for the iPhone. Every other data can be restored from iCloud except for Apps

Things I did to fix it -

Called the Apple Support people by scheduling time and I got a call from them

The Apple CSR person asked for my apple id, DOB, first name, last name

Told me to goto Settings -> iTunes and App Store, click on Apple ID, select View Apple ID (enter password if prompted) and make sure payment information is updated. Everything was fine, still no go.

She then transferred me to the iTunes Department where another person took few more details and in 2 minutes just unlocked my ID

Issue - There was a recurring subscription that I had cancelled and the bank has thought that it was a fraud and had placed a lock on my Apple ID. This seems to be the case 90% of the time.

NOTE - Simply resetting password in iForgot or logging out and logging back in will not resolve the issue.

Hopefully this post is helpful enough. Have a nice day everyone

I used the advice from rnicks -- I called the Apple Care team and told them that there was a problem with the iTunes account due to a disputed charge.  The Apple Care person was very helpful and transferred me to the iTunes support.  I had to answer my security questions, provide the credit card info (partially, not in full), and it was reinstated.  They were very helpful (Tiesha at Apple, and Mac at iTunes), walked me through the steps of turning off credit card charges to avoid any future charges, and I was up and running in less than 10 minutes all in.

You've also logged out and back into your account everywhere that you're using it : What to do after you change your Apple ID email address or password - Apple Support ? If you have then try this form to contact Support and see if they can/will re-enable it : https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html

Go into your settings and reset your phone yourself.  You will lose nothing of importance...no pictures, etc..just apps that you can retrieve again.
