Q: How to change apple ID and still receive iMessages

Hi,

I recently needed to create a new apple ID for my iPhone, as my old account was shared with me and my son.

For some reason, now that I have set up the new account all my iMessages are going to the original apple ID account on my sons phone.

How do I set up my phone so that the iMessage's continue to come to my phone?
