Q: Moving iMessage conversation from mac to iphone
My iPhone 5c was broken for about 2 months so I have been texting using my macbook. I recently got the iPhone SE and I was hoping there was a way to move the conversations from my mac's iMessage to the new iPhone as the backup that I loaded from was from early March when the first phone was broken. I found the chat.db files if that helps. Thanks!

Hi,
Can't be done.
iMessages are sent out in a process called Push to each devices that is Registered at that time and then deleted from the servers.
(Therefore the "Sync" only happens at the moment there is an iMessages and multiple devices).
The files on one device such as a Mac cannot be imported on to an iOS device or vice versa.
The "sync" as it is called is only "Display on all devices" and no action on one device influences the iMessages on another.
An iPhone Number might remain active and logged in for a short period of not having power or any other break in the connection to the server.
Longer breaks seems to cause the number to be deregistered so that there is no catching up on missing iMessages if the gap between old and new iPhone is too long.
