Q: Songs missing from Apple Music on Apple TV

Hello everyone,

I am having an issue with Apple Music on my Apple TV where songs and playlists aren't updating. It currently lists all of the songs I had when I originally set up the Apple TV, but nothing since.

I have a 4th gen, 32g Apple TV running tvOS 9.1.1

I made sure that home sharing has been turned on for all devices, as well as as double checked that I am signed in appropriately to all devices. I have also double checked that any changes to apple music I make on one device occur on across all of my devices. The only issue is that Apple TV doesn't update.

The album artwork for about 80% of my content is blank as well.

I have also tried signing out of iTunes and signing back in on my Apple TV which didn't solve the issue.

Hopefully this is a simple issue involving something I missed that can be fixed. Otherwise I guess I'm just going to have to wait for a software update.

Thank you for you time.

Have you tried a full restore of the Apple TV yet?

I have been having a similar problem too (Apple TV 4th gen, 64gb, tvOS 9.2).

Songs added to playlists from any device other than my Apple TV, won't show up in the playlist on the Apple TV. Work perfectly well for all my other iDevices. Also worth noting is that the thumbnail i choose for each playlist in iTunes, won't appear on the Apple TV.

Deleting or adding new whole playlists do however work fine, so does renaming existing ones. Also, newly added songs do appear under "My Music" on the Apple TV. But the songs won't appear in their playlists.

My latest of many attempts to fix this problem was a full restore of the Apple TV. This set all my playlist up to date. But the problem still remains, as the playlists won't update further. This worked as a one time solution, but is not an option to keep doing whenever I update a playlist.

I would be very thankful if anyone would share their solution to this problem. This should not be a problem with a product at this price point, where music is a key feature. Especially not this long after intial release.

I also have a similar problem where songs are missing from a playlist on the Apple TV.

the same playlist is fine on two different computers and 2 iPhones.

I tried disconnecting my account on the Apple TV... It partially worked... My playlist has 951 songs... bef disconnecting, it was showing 783... After disconnecting and reconnecting, it shows 869.

    Apple needs to fix this!

    Hi All,

I've had similar problems for months and today have finally resolved them.

I subscribe to Apple Music and always managed the playlists on iPhone, iPad or iTunes.

Every device except the Apple TV synced great. Like you guys, I've been racking my brain for hours and hours trying to fix this.

In my case the problem was that explicit songs are excluded by the Apple TV default settings.

To resolve this you need to turn restrictions ON and allow explicit content.

I turned the restriction On and allow absolutely everything... explicit content enabled... and it didn't fix the problem... one of my playlists is still missing 82 songs.
