Q: Apple TV is stuck on setup screen and remote will not move selections

We are trying to setup Apple TV, but our screen is stuck on setup screen with a foreign language and the remote is stuck and will not let us select any selections or move to another selection.  The remote does allow you to reset the Apple TV by pushing menu and home buttons.

Disconnect the HDMI cable from the Apple TV to the HDTV. Wait ten seconds then re connect it.

 

Then follow the instructions for setting up the Apple TV >   Set up your Apple TV (4th generation)
