I understand you are using the Find my iPhone feature and are not seeing the map. The resource below provides some help:
If you see "Offline," "No location available," or "Location Services Off," your device might be offline for one of these reasons:
- It's powered off, the battery has run out, or it’s been more than 24 hours since the last location was sent to Apple (if Send Last Location is turned on). When your device is connected to the Internet, you can see the remaining battery in the upper-right corner of the information pane.
- Your iPad, iPod Touch, or Mac is asleep and not connected to a known Wi-Fi or data network. Wait a few minutes and try again.
- You're in a country where we don't offer this feature. This feature might not be available in your country due to technical limitations or local law.
You can still play a sound, send a message, issue a lock request, or start an erase of your iOS device with Find My iPhone. Your device will receive the command after it's turned on and has an Internet connection.
If you contact your wireless service provider to report your device lost or stolen, they might deactivate your SIM card or account. This will turn off your iPhone's service and you won't be able to find, play a sound, send a message, issue a lock request, or start an erase of your iOS device with Find My iPhone. However, we'll help you learn how to protect your data.
Your device's last known location is available for one day. If your device is offline or can't connect to Find My iPhone for more than 24 hours, you won't be able to see the last known location.
Take care,

May 16, 2016 2:17 PM in response to judysingsby Dennyc,Thanks for offering the help, but the article did not deal with the symptom.
Find My iPhone thinks it knows where the phone is. I can see the phone icon displayed on a grid, at some location separated from where I am now. The update reads "Now", or "1 minute ago". The problem is that I don't know where this is, because the grid is blank --- no distance scale, map or even lat - long. coordinates. What I need and expect is a map, as it recently used to do.
My guess is that the location is some 30 miles northwest of here, assuming north is at the top.

May 16, 2016 2:25 PM in response to Dennycby gail from maine,Mine is doing the same thing on my iPhone. Not sure why, but if you tap on the and then on Hybrid, you will get a better idea of where it is showing your device. I can see the full map on my Mac....
Cheers,

May 16, 2016 10:17 PM in response to Dennycby gail from maine,Hi Dennyc,
I just tried to look at the map on Find My iPhone on my phone again, and found that if you zoom out so that you are looking at a larger area, the map will show up. Then slowly zoom in until it gets to the point where it won't show the map. It doesn't get to the level of detail that you find on a Mac, but it will display the map if you zoom out until it shows and then back in again.
Cheers,
GB
