Q: Wireless devices can't connect to my Time Machine after working successfully for a year.

We suddenly can't get online using our Time Capsule. The Green light is showing but when I look at it on Airport Utility the connection between the Internet and the Time Capsule continously drops and reconnects. I have just tried a soft reboot, the green light is on again but on Airport Utility the Time Capsule is now not showing up at all.

The household has 2 x Macs on different operating systems, an ipad and 2 iphones and none can connect using the Time Capsule.

Help!

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

    Hi there TiredonaSunday,

It sounds like your Time Capsule is no longer showing up at all and is still not working correctly. I would next do a hard reset and if needed a factory default reset since that seems to be the next best steps to perform:

    • Hard reset: Perform this reset for troubleshooting and resolving problems with an unresponsive device, or to troubleshoot network accessibility issues.
    • Default Settings reset: Perform this reset if you wish to repurpose the device and want to remove all personal profiles and settings first. This reset resets the device to its state when you first purchased it. Data stored on internal or external hard drives connected to the device will not be erased. If you choose, you may manually erase the hard drive using AirPort Utility.
