Q: Moving files to iCloud and then transferring computer to another user ?
My wife is retiring from work at a community college. She has been using a mac at work. At home, she plans to use an iPad. I have already purchased extra storage on the ICloud drive.
I think I want to transfer some of her files to my iCloud drive for storage. Then, her computer will be wiped and re-assigned to a new faculty member.
We would access her files from my home Mac, or her iPad.
Will this work if the original computer no longer has the files? Ie. it is wiped and transferred to another person?
Or, is there a better way to transfer and store files?

Yes, your plan should work, but I'd transfer the files before the Mac is wiped. Maybe easier and quicker would be to use a pocket drive to do the transfer to your Mac.
