Q: Macbook Unibody 2008 OS Installation Problem

Hi everyone,

I have a Macbook Unibody 2008 edition and right now I am trying to install El Capitan. But I am facing some strange issues. First I created a USB installer disk using Diskmanager X5. Now when I boot from USB first Language selector starts and here my trackpad cursor can move but I cannot make clicks, also the physical left click is not working. Only Tab, spacebar and arrow keys are working. Then from next come option for installing El Capitan , here also my trackpad clicks are not working and I am not able to select Utilities option from the top neither by using trackpad and nor by using tab and arrow keys. So I am not able to access disk utility. I think my trackpad is ok because I am able to use two finger scroll gesture during language selector and terms and conditions section. For once I started the installation by selecting the default options and the installation terminated at the end. I googled that error and found that many others are getting this error for El Capitan. I also checked my version of USB by attaching it to some other Macbook Pro and it was working fine and all disk utility option were working well. After all that I downloaded Yosemite and created same USB disk but again same issues as I am not able to access disk utility. I don't know what is the issue with my laptop. Plz any body help. I have been using my laptop without battery for last 1 year and now I have genuine apple battery. Is this might be an hardware issue ??

Kindly help.

MacBook, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)
