Q: Safari not loading web pages correctly

My Safari won't load web pages correctly.  I attached a screen shot of the Yahoo.com homepage.  All web pages are similar...no pictures, all script.

If you have problems opening webpages, take a look at these troubleshooting techniques suggested by Apple.

    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204098

Go to Safari menu (At the very top right side of your screen next to Apple icon), choose "Quit Safari"

press "Shift" button and while holding this button on your keyboard single click on the Safari icon on your Dock.

Open Safari - Preferences - Privacy - Remove All Website Data.

Open the Go menu with Option (Alt) key pressed - Library - locate Safari folder and move it to your desktop. Restart your Mac, open Safari and delete the folder from your desktop.

         Safari > Preference > Advanced

Checkmark the box beside "Show Develop menu in menu bar".

Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.

Click “Develop”  to show the dropdown.

        1.  Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown and test.

        2. Make sure that “Disable Images” is not selected.

If you see a checkmark beside “Disable Images”, click on it to remove it and test.

        3. Click on “Disable Extensions” to temporarily disable extensions and test.

To enable extensions back  click on it  to remove the checkmark.

            To uninstall any extension:

            Safari > Preferences > Extensions

Select the extension and click the "Uninstall" button.

I tried all of the suggestions so far.  None worked.  Still the same issue.

Thanks for the suggestions.  Any other ideas?

    Try a restart.

Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

Isolating an issue by using another user account

If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

    Safe Mode

    Safe Mode - Mavericks

    Safe Mode - About

    Safe Mode - Yosemite

Safe Mode - About El Capitan

Safe Mode Startup – El Capitan.

What version of Safari are you running?  Go to Safari --> About Safari and tell us what the version number is.  For example, I'm running version 9.1.1.

I used a guest account and Safari did worked fine.

Is there a way to restore by Safari settings/folders from time machine....back a few days before the problem started happening.

    If so, which files/folders.

    Thanks

Did you try booting into, the Safe Mode.

To restore from Time Machine, quit the application, then go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.  Select Library/Safari. Enter Time Machine and restore.
