Q: I have 2 apple IDs under 2 email addresses. I only use one. I want to delete the other to stop the neverending popup box to sign in

I have 2 apple IDs under 2 email addresses. I only use one, i think because I had forgotten the info for the other for so long I made a new one. I have read you cant unite accounts, and I dont think making them the same email will work either since theyre still 2 accounts? Theres nothing Im worried about losing in deleting the first account, and Ive read where most people just remove their info and leave it. I want to fully delete it because its always popping up for a sign in to that Apple ID and I have to keep clicking out until it gives me the one i DO use. Help please.

If it is coming up asking for your old ID it is doing it for a reason. Do you have apps loaded on to your device that were purchased with that old ID? Have you signed that old ID out of all services? When do you see the popup?

Also, the one I want to delete is connected to my icloud, whereas the one i want to keep is connecting to the app store. Maybe thats how i ended up with 2. Either way I want to delete the icloud email account and then connect my icloud to the app store account as well.

OK, but you should be aware that changing your iCloud account will remove any iCloud sync'd data from your device: Notes, Calendars, Messages, Photos. The only item that you have an option of keeping are the Contacts. When you sign out of the iCloud account, you will have the option to keep the Contacts on your device. When you sign in with your iTunes ID, you will have the option to Merge those Contacts with that iCloud account.

Also, any purchases that you made with that iCloud account will forever be tied to it. Sounds like you may not have made any purchases with that ID, so that is good.

So, if you want to change the iCloud account go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and sign out. Then sign back in again with the new ID. If that is the only other place on your device that the old ID is signed in, then you won't be seeing any messages for it anymore.

Thank you very much for your help. Seemed to do the trick. Have been putting up with it for over a year but just got a new phone so glad I can start fresh now.
