Q: ipad pro 9.7 update 9.3.2 issue

Today when I tried to update my IPad with the 9.3.2 update over wifi, after downloading the update and the install started like usual. Upon rebooting, I get the Connect to iTunes screen. I connect my iPad to iTunes and try to update it, says update failed and that I need to do a restore. The restore fails (error code 56). I tried all of the fixes from the help page with no luck. Any suggestions or do I need to send off my iPad for repair?

Thanks

My IPAD Pro 9.7 is also bricked after upgrading to 9.3.2. Apple (senior) advisor made some tests and ask me to go to a apple repair center.

Should I wait for a new version of IOS 9.3.2 or should I take it to Apple repair center?

Same here. Please update as soon as possible. I work with my iPad (is it called PRO) and this is unacceptable.

Same 9.3.2 bricking issue here. Spent a few hours on two different occasions yesterday with Apple support and tried using 3 different computers to restore back to factory settings. It seems to freeze during the firmware update process and then spits out the 56 error message.

Take it to the repair center. You have a warranty, use it. Let Apple deal with the problem.

Same problem here. Taking it to the repair center is something I'm not willing to do.

I've paid a lot of money for an iPad Pro that was fine and that I use daily in my work.

This morning received an over-the-air update from Apple with important security improvements.

You update and your iPad Pro is broken. Everything stops.

So no iPad Pro today for work and probably nothing tomorrow either.

I am not taking time off from work and make more expenses to travel to an Apple Store,

for a problem they gave me over the internet. They should fix it, fast, over that same internet,

and reimburse for the time lost until they do...

I Totally agree. I wrote a email to my adviser telling him that I need some kinda compensation for my time. This experience is so not what I'm use to from this company. And to suggest that we go into the store (1 hour away for me) and to have to rearange schedule, reload software maps projects etc is to much. I am very frustrated.

    Hello,

Just thought I'd weigh in. I have a 9.7 inch iPad Pro as most affected on here. I had the same issue last night and I had the opportunity to go into the Apple Genius Bar today, I took my MacBook and replicated the error message. They tried on their own MacBook and the error repeated. So they replaced my iPad under the warranty, they had heard about the error but had no official statement or fix. The Genius did make it apparent to not update until a fix is developed. They replaced it on the pretence that both MacBooks were saying that it was Error 56 and that is Hardware related.

After several attempts of trying to restore it via iTunes and calls with support I took it to the Genius Bar. They called the report of update problems "rumors," but a lot of people started pouring in with the same problems.  They had to replace my iPad Pro.

I dealt with support Tuesday night and all day tomorrow. Took into store and they tried as well and determined they needed to replace it, so I have a new iPad pro now (128gb cellular version). The store folks didn't seem to be aware of the issue at all.
