The books in Photos for Mac are very limited. If you create a Book in Aperture you can export the book as a new library and then open this library in Photos:
- Select the book in the library Inspector, ctrl-click it. Then use "Export > Book as new Library."

Recreating the book in Photos will be very lossy, since Photos does not give you much control about size of the photo boxes or text boxes. r You essentially select the photos in an album, pick a template, and be happy with the automatic layout.
It will be much quicker to send the book to a third party print service.
