Q: Is the Activity tracker exercise ring (the green one) broken?

Hi. Just after updating my AppleWatch to 2.2.1 version early this week, the Activity App has a weird behavior: the Exercise ring, the green one, it's always at zero! It's the second day in a row it it's fixed to zero and seem in able to record any data! It's a version related bug? How I can solve it? Thank for any help.

Apple Watch, watchOS 2.2.1, null

    Hi

    To credit Exercise progress, the Activity app aims to identify activity that equals or exceeds the intensity of a brisk walk. The definition of a brisk walk varies from person to person and depends upon your personal information.

    To check that your personal information is accurate - and to update it over time:

    - On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > Health > Edit - tap to make any adjustments, then tap on Done.

    During general daily wear, the Activity app relies on your arm motion (measured by the accelerometer) to track movement for the purpose of crediting progress toward the Exercise goal. For the best results, allow the arm on which you are wearing your watch to swing naturally as you move around.

    Calibrating your watch also helps to improve the accuracy of various estimations (including Exercise credit) made by the Activity app and Workout app. More information and instructions for calibrating your watch are available via the link below.

    If your pattern of daily activity has not changed significantly and you would normally expect to have achieved Exercise credit, it may otherwise help to close all open apps and restart both your iPhone and your watch.

    On your iPhone, close all open apps:

    - Double-press the Home button, then swipe up on each of the app previews to close them.

    Restart both your iPhone and your watch:

    - Turn both devices off together, then restart your iPhone first;

    - To turn your watch off: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag it to turn off;

    - To turn it on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

    If the issue then persists, next try unpairing and re-pairing your watch:

    - The Watch app on your iPhone takes a backup of your watch automatically when unpairing via the app.

    - Choose to Restore from Backup when offered the option during set up. Most data and settings will be restored, with some exceptions (eg Apple Pay cards, passcode).

    - Unpair your Apple Watch and iPhone - Apple Support

    - Set up your Apple Watch - Apple Support

    Thank you Jonathan for your kind suggestions! As you say I haven't changed my daily activity routine and, starting from a couple of days ago, just after updating the watch is to 2.2.1 version, I've noticed that just the "exercise" ring (the green one) was stuck on zero data recording. It's 3 day on a row today that it show always the same 0 level of exercise. I'll try your suggestions starting from restarting both the iPhone and the watch. Then I'll try to do some "heavy" exercise and check if some changes happened. I'll share every news with you. Thank you again!
