Q: Buying an iMac online

If you order your Mac from Apple, you will be charged the appropriate tax based on where you live.  There will be NO tax savings.

Tax charge would be applicable to the state you live in, would it not.

Set up like like you mean plug it in? AFAIK Apple does not do house calls,  however Best Buy offers this service.

Actually Apple does do house calls for Desktop Macs,under AppleCare agreement. I had two repairs done under on site service. Of course they will not come to plug it in for you.

Education discount is limited to $100 discount. You will finda better discount if you buy through the Clearance/Refurbished link.
