Q: OS X El Capitan v10.11.5 and Security Update 2016-003 produced a stalled restart on MB Pro
13" MACBOOK PRO 3.0GHz Dual-core Intel Core i7, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB. The machine was plugged into it's external power supply. I choose to allow the Security Update 2016-003 which proceeded by downloading the update and alerting me that it would be restarting the machine. I selected to restart vice waiting 51 seconds. After the restart, the install seemed to progress normally until I noticed it stalled at about 60%. It has been there for 12 hours. I figured I'd sleep on it but seems as dismal this morning as it has not progressed. Is there anything to be done vice forcing a shutdown?
