Q: Can I copy my Maps Favorites from Yosemite to El Capitan?

I have a new El Capitan machine...how do I move my Apple Maps Favorites from the old Yosemite machine?

    You might try making a copy of these two files:

     

         /Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.MapsSupport.plist

         /Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mediaaccessibility.plist

     

    And, transfer them to the same folder on the other computer.

     

    Three Ways to Make the Home/Library Folder Visible

     

    A. This method will make the folder visible permanently. Open the Terminal application in the Utilities folder and paste the following at the command prompt:

     

    chflags nohidden ~/Library

     

    Press RETURN.

     

    B. Click on the Desktop, press the Option (⌥) key, select Library from the Finder's Go menu.

     

    C. Select Go To Folder from the Finder's Go menu. Paste the following in the path field:

     

    ~/Library

     

    Click on the Go button.

    How about moving the

     

    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Maps

     

    moving the folder  from here

     

    ~/Library/Containers/

    Moving the entire ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Maps folder to the same folder on the new Mac solved this issue.
